Privacy policy

Your trust matters more to us than any single data point. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and why.

1. Overview

This policy describes what information Task Label, Inc. (“Task Label”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the Task Label platform as a worker, provider, or visitor, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website, dashboard, and any related services.

2. Information we collect

Account information. Name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), role (worker, provider, or admin), and profile details you choose to add — company name, headline, bio, skills, location.

Task and submission content. Campaign details a provider publishes, files attached to a campaign, and the content a worker submits against a task.

Payment-related information. For workers who add a payout method, we store the details needed to process a withdrawal to a bank account (see Section 5). We do not store card numbers in plain text.

Usage data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected automatically to keep the service secure and working correctly.

Cookies. We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences like light/dark theme. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How we use this information

  • To operate the platform: matching tasks to workers, processing submissions and reviews, and running the escrow and payout ledger.
  • To communicate with you: submission status, payout confirmations, dispute updates, and security notices.
  • To maintain trust and safety: detecting fraud, abuse, or violations of the Terms of Service or Worker Agreement.
  • To improve the platform: understanding which features are used and where things break.

4. When information is shared

A provider sees the content of submissions made to their campaigns, and the public profile information of workers who take their tasks (name, avatar, skills, rating). A worker sees a provider’s company name and public profile when viewing a task.

We do not sell personal information. We share data with service providers who help us run the platform (hosting, database, and authentication infrastructure) under agreements that limit their use of it to providing that service, and we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Task Label, our users, or the public.

5. Payment information

Payout details you save are stored securely to be reused for future withdrawals and are never re-displayed in full after saving — only a masked version is shown. If our payment processing arrangements change, this policy will be updated before that change takes effect.

6. Data retention

We retain account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed to satisfy legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations afterward. You can request deletion of your account as described in Section 7, subject to records we’re required to keep.

7. Your rights and choices

  • Access and update most profile information directly from Settings.
  • Request a copy of your data, or request deletion of your account, by contacting privacy@tasklabel.io.
  • Opt out of non-essential email notifications from your notification preferences.

8. Children’s privacy

Task Label is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We’ll update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes, and notify you by email or an in-app notice for material changes.
